Rajiv Rishyakaran
Rajiv A/L Rishyakaran is a first-term member of the Selangor State Assembly from the Democratic Action Party, representing the (state seat of Bukit Gasing (N.34) ).〔http://mediarakyat.net/2013/04/27/candidate-for-dun-bukit-gasing-rajiv-rishyakaran/〕 He is preceded the late Edward Lee whose untimely death left the seat vacant for a couple of years before the elections.
==Personal life==
Rajiv is the eldest of five (5) brothers. Despite being born in Kuala Lumpur's Universiti Malaya Medical Centre, he spent most of his childhood in Ipoh, Perak where his father was based as a civil servant. They later moved to Subang Jaya where he finished secondary school.
In 2010, he met his wife Ana at a Climate Change conference in the Philippines. They got married in 2013, just before the elections. It has been reported that the couple found out that Rajiv will be fielded as one of DAP's candidates just 3 days before the Nomination day, the latter being the same day as their wedding dinner reception in the Philippines. Rajiv left for the Philippines immediately after filing his candidacy and arrived fashionably late at the reception. The newly married couple came back to Malaysia the next day to campaign.
